Something
big is happening in Northern Arizona. The work coming out of Flagstaff
and neighboring Navajo and Hopi Nations spans traditional food and
medicine gardens, renewable energy
projects, orchard restoration, large-scale water harvesting, natural
building, mural
projects, youth summits, youth media, protecting sacred sites, energy and climate justice campaigns, healing through hip hop, and creating culturally appropriate green jobs.
The greater Flagstaff and Northern Arizona community continues to
demonstrate the effectiveness of having multiple elements of healthy
communities working together to create a cohesive whole. Where there
is resistance to something they don't want, there is an equally strong
movement working on the alternatives to fill in the gap. Here are some examples of the work happening in the region.
