Spring 2006; Indigenous Youth Coalition of Pinon; Pinon, Navajo Nation

The Indigenous Youth Coalition of Pinon (Navajo Nation) has been working with young people in their community for almost a decade.  Their projects include large scale water harvesting, traditional food  production, and a weaving project where the youth learn every component of weaving beginning with herding sheep.  They then shear, clean, spin, and die the wool using natural dyes, then weave saddle blankets on hand built looms...
